Seacoast Maxi

seacoast maxi dress seacoast maxi dress

A business trip and my regular life got in the way of blogging last week, so I took a few days off from the blogosphere - no biggie. Though there was a time that I wanted to try to blog literally every day to "remain true" to this being a daily style blog and boy, was that no fun. Nothing like turning a little hobby into a have-to-do chore in a hurry.

So I got this fun little dress at Anthropologie recently and could not wait to wear it. It's only like second or third maxi dress ever, but it's so comfy and not too bare up top, plus the petite length is short enough for me to wear this dress even with flats without looking too stumpy. This go-around, I decided to pop in bits of coral accessories.

Little Black Tee Dress: Three Ways

LBD 3-ways

I like the sporty ease of a tee dress - it's super duper comfy plus can be dressed in a multitude of ways (the ruched sides? I can pull the skirt down or let it ride up a bit). As the weather currently weeble wobbles between heat wave and chilled mornings, I thought it would be fun to style one of the best easy pieces in my closet in a few ways as the weekend approaches.

Raincoats and Shirtdresses

coral shirt dress

I love how dresses make getting dressed so easy - double points for shirtdresses because they're just as easy and look so crisp. And this raincoat? My first actually-made-of-materials-that-will-repel-water-not-just-look-good-but-be-completely-ineffective-in-wet-weather coat! Granted I haven't had an actual raincoat since I was a kid, this was one of those purchases that made me feel kind of grown-up - useful clothing. We'll disregard the fact that as I got this coat home, I unzipped the hood because apparently I'd rather get my hair soaked than be seen wearing a silly hood in wet weather ...

Spring-ing for the Weekend

There are so many pretty new looks for spring right now that I'm looking at cute casual pieces that are outside of my normal style scope for weekend wear (off-shoulder anything, I'm looking at you).

Shopbop carries a ton of designer name brands and styles with free expedited shipping to most countries, so they've been my go-to online retailer to peruse new-to-me brands and styles.

Here's an idea on some warm weather goodies I'm lusting after (and I'm partners with Shopbop so the links are direct, not affiliate or commissionable - please click away) -

Straw hats by: Rag and Bone / Janessa Leone / Eugenia Kim / Ace of Something (for $70)

Sunglasses by: Prada / Le Specs (under $70) / Stella McCartney / Karen Walker

 Off-shoulder dresses by: Nicholas / Club Monaco / re:named (only $60) / MDS

Weekend bags by: Monserat De Lucca (for $85) / Serpui Marie / Rebecca Minkoff / Milly

Strappy shoes by: Loeffler Randall / Soludos (under $90) / Kate Spade / Sigerson Morrison

Pink Pineapples

pink pineapples

Ballet pink, blush, light peach - whatever you call it, I seem to be having a moment with this color lately. For a gal who usually eschews pastels for saturated tones, this light pink hue has caught my fancy (probably because it is an "in" color for spring so retailers have loads of pieces to offer, I'm learning that not all pastels wash me out, and I've fallen in adoration over this necklace and want to have stuff to go with it). Plus if you're going to throw some cute pineapple print on top of this color, well - you caught me at the right moment, retail marketing does it again.
